For the Sauce
• ½ cup Margarine (or butter)
• 1½ cups Sugar
• ½ tsp Baking Soda
• 2 tsp Vanilla
• ½ cup Buttermilk

How to make Sugar Plum Cake:
• Grease and flour 9x13 inch baking pan or bundt pan.
• Preheat oven to 350 °F (175 °C).
• Take a large mixing bowl and mix together flour, sugar, eggs, vegetable oil, baking soda, salt, allspice, cinnamon, nutmeg, buttermilk, vanilla, plums and nuts. Beat with an electric mixer to combine the ingredients well.
• Pour the batter into the baking pan.
• Bake the cake for 1 hour.
• Meanwhile, place a saucepan on fire and combine together margarine, sugar, baking soda, vanilla and buttermilk.
• Boil the contents, stirring continuously till the sauce reaches a thick consistency, for about 2 minutes.
• Remove the cake from the oven and poke holes with a fork.

• Let the cake sit till the sauce is absorbed.

• Combine hazelnuts and ground almonds together.
• Beat egg yolks until thick and fluffy.
• Add sugar and beat again, until well blended.
• Gradually add the ground mixture and mix thoroughly.
• Beat egg whites until stiff and stir in the yolk-nut mixture.
• Pour the mixture into two buttered tins and place in a preheated oven at 350 degrees F.
• Bake until the top of the cake springs back instantly after pushing in.
• Remove from the oven and cover the top layer of each cake with cherry brandy.
• Spread a thin layer of raspberry jam over each and place one cake on the other.

• Mix the flour, baking soda and salt. Gradually add this to the egg mix.
• Now stir in the raisins and nuts.
• Use a tablespoon to drop the batter onto a lightly greased baking sheet. Each cookie should be about 2 inches away from other cookies.

How to make Raspberry Custard Kuchen:
• Take a large mixing bowl and combine 1 cup flour and salt in it.
• Cut the butter and add it to the flour. Mix till the mixture forms coarse crumbs.
• Add in whipping cream. Mix well.
• Grease a 13 x 9 inch baking pan.
• Set the mixture into the prepared pan.
• Mix sugar and the remaining half cup of flour.
• Sprinkle over the crust in the pan.
• Arrange the raspberries over the crust.
• Mix together sugar and flour.

How to make Warm Potato Salad:
• Pour plenty of water in a large pot and bring it to a boil.
• Add potatoes to the water and cook them for about 15 minutes or till they are tender, but firm.
• Drain the potatoes and cool them. Chop them into small pieces.
• Keep a large, deep skillet over medium high heat and place the bacon slices in it.
• Cook until the pieces are evenly brown on all sides.
• Drain the slices and crumble them. Keep them aside. Reserve the bacon fat.
• Pour the reserved bacon fat in the skillet and add flour, white sugar, water and white wine vinegar. Cook, stirring, till the dressing gets thick.
• Add in the bacon slices, potatoes and green onions to the skillet. Stir to coat them well.
• Cook till the preparation is well heated.
• Season with salt and pepper.
• Serve warm.

How to make German Bread Rolls:
• Preheat oven to 450°F.
• Take a large bowl and place 2 ½ cups of flour in it. Form a well in the center.
• In another bowl, mix together yeast, sugar and 2 tablespoons of water.
• Pour the yeast mixture into the well formed in the flour, but do not mix it with the flour.
• Cover the bowl with a cloth and keep it in a warm place for 15 minutes.
• Add oil and remaining water to the flour and beat well, until mixed.
• Knead the dough well, until smooth.
• Add in the remaining half cup flour and knead well.
• Place the dough in a bowl and cover it. Leave it to rise until double in size.
• Divide the dough into 12 parts.
• Grease and flour a cookie sheet.
• Shape each part into an oval roll and place it on the cookie sheet.
• Repeat with other dough parts and place them on the cookie sheet as well, 3 inches apart.
• Cover the rolls and let them rise to double their size.
• Add 1 teaspoon of water to the egg white and beat with a fork until it is frothy.
• Brush the rolls with this egg white mixture.
• Bake the rolls in the oven for 15 to 20 minutes, till they turn golden brown.
